Kennedy set up the Sharks' first four-pointer for Connor Tracey early in the game, before scoring the crucial 61st minute try to give his side back the lead. The fullback also ran for metres and broke 9 tackles in a complete performance. If he doesn't get an extension tabled to him soon, Kennedy will start to attract interest from rival clubs with his form continuing to improve each week.

Paul Vaughan clipped a bloke that was falling, Mawene Hiroti made a completely avoidable high tackle and knocked out Cody Ramsey, while Josh Dugan hit Billy Burns flush in the face with a swinging arm. There is a clear lack of consistency in the NRL's new crackdown on high shots - and not just from game to game, but from incident to incident.

Anthony Griffin and Ben Hunt were both vocal about their confusion and frustration towards the NRL, but it seems to be falling on deaf ears. They might not make as many headlines as the halves and the outside backs, but the big forwards in the middle need love too. Some of the middle men looked as they hit Cbus Super Stadium with the bit between their teeth, ready to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

Queensland star Tino Fa'asuamaleaui burst through for a first-half try to give the Titans the ascendancy, while Bulldogs prop Luke Thompson muscled his way over late in the clash to make things nervous for the home side.

Jarrod Wallace also got on the end of one for Gold Coast but it was Moeaki Fotuaika who was perhaps the most impressive of the big boys.

The Titans front rower played 60 minutes, ran for metres, broke 10 tackles, made 39 of his own and laid on the sealer for AJ Brimson with a barnstorming run straight down main street in the final few minutes. With referees so quick to send blokes to the sin bin, it's no surprise to see players making the most of high contact. That certainly looked to be the case when Jarrod Wallace did his best to let the officials know he'd been collected in the chops by Dylan Napa.

After some consultation with the bunker, Napa was sent for 10 and the Titans took the ascendancy and were never headed. Bulldogs coach Trent Barrett flagged the trend as a potential issue for the game moving forward. After a Magic Round embarrassment at the hands of the Sea Eagles, Brisbane needed to win back some respect against the Roosters. In a scrappy, disjointed affair, the Broncos big men didn't take a backward step against their more-fancied opponents. Pangai in particular was called upon to give young halfback Sam Walker a long night and he did just that, as well as getting under the skin of Roosters firebrand Victor Radley.

For the second time this season, the Roosters appeared to let their emotions get the better of them in a big game. Discipline cost them against South Sydney in round three and again it proved to be an issue as the Broncos got the better of them on Saturday night. While they are missing some of their leaders, the Roosters should have enough quality and experience to get back on track after moments of ill-discipline.

Trent Robinson conceded his side were "too emotional" at times on Saturday night - they'd want to get their emotions in check come finals time. I swear you could pick a handful of blokes off the street, give them a pre-season with the Storm and they'd look like a solid first-grader when called upon.

Craig Bellamy's ability to replace his big names with players who know the system and will do the job required is unmatched. Without his first-choice fullback, five-eighth, halfback, backrower, as well as the Queensland hooker, the Storm's depth could not have been tested much further, but after an early scare, they did it easy. While some of the Storm's unheralded types stepped up, Canberra coach Ricky Stuart will be spewing to have let a chance against the understrength heavyweight slip.

In front of their home crowd, the Raiders, themselves without several key personnel, took an early point lead before conceding six straight tries to suffer their seventh loss for the season. Terse at the best of times, Stuart could barely muster a response to any of the questions in the post-match press conference, though he wasn't going to use their injuries as an excuse.

Here's yet another example of why Penrith didn't want to grant Burton an early release to join the Bulldogs. Playing in his home town of Dubbo, Burton crossed for three tries in the Panthers' demolition of South Sydney on Sunday. Throw in run metres, three linebreaks and a try assist, and it was a trememdous day out for the year-old. Able to play in the halves or in the centres, Burton remains a key element in the Panthers' phenomenal match unbeaten run this season. The Bulldogs wanted him at Belmore this year - and he'll be a crucial figure in the Doggies' rebuild - but it's clear to see why Penrith refused to give him up.

No team has ever won a premiership after conceding 50 points in a season, let alone conceding 50 points in the space of two weeks. Those are the statistical obsticals Wayne Bennett's team must overcome, but it only tells half the story.

The Bunnies passed into touch, missed straight-forward tackles, dropped the ball and were disjointed in attack. It's only the side's third loss of the season, and they're still sitting in fourth spot on the table, but the Rabbitohs look like anything but Premiership contenders. Tom Trbojevic is a freakish talent, and he deserves all the praise in the world - but what about some of the other guys in that Manly side? Players like Sean Keppie, Haumole Olakau'atu, Lachlan Croker and Reuben Garrick all had fantastic performances against the Eels, and that is only going to make them more dangerous as the season rolls on.

Des Hasler had the same kind of thing happening during the campaign, where they made a run into the finals with a long injury list and were only inches away from a preliminary final berth. The way things are going right now for Manly, we could see history repeat itself as their unsung heroes go from strength-to-strength.

It was a tough day at the office for Waqa Blake and Blake Ferguson, with the pair leaking plenty of tries and linebreaks in the defeat at Bankwest Stadium. Brad Parker crossed for a double, while Reuben Garrick had a field day and got his own four-pointer as well. Ferguson and Blake have been criticised for their defensive combination plenty of times in the past, but with the latter spending a large chunk of the season to date on the sidelines, the spotlight had been taken away.
