I also found these alerts in SCE related to attempting to deploy the agent The MOM Server failed to open service control manager on computer gregs-old-pc. The task was run from the management server db I also checked the event log on the target PC and the management server as recommended in the "Knowledge" section of one of the alerts and found these on the management server This will cause failure to configure Microsoft Operations Manager agent.
